Favours and bonbonierre
Bonbonierre and favours are a wedding tradition which originates from Italy. Originally they were made from tulle and contain five sugared almonds, representing health, wealth, happiness, longlife and fertility for the Bride and Groom.
Over the years the tradition has been maintained although now there are a far greater variety of containers for the almonds, also the almonds can be substituted for chocolate dragees (sugar coated chocolate) and other sweets for children.
